Summary: We collect only what's necessary to run your account and track usage. We never store your audio recordings or conversation content. Your resume and profile data lives on your device.
Clue is an AI-powered interview assistant desktop application, available at cluehire.com. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to the Clue team. For privacy-related queries, contact us at hello@cluehire.com.
Account Information: When you sign in, we collect your email address and a unique user ID through Firebase Authentication (provided by Google).
Profile Data: Information you enter in the Configure tab — your role, domain, resume text, and job description. This data is stored locally on your device and used only to tailor AI-generated answers during your session.
Usage Metadata: We record session start/end timestamps and minute consumption to manage your usage balance. We do not record the content of your sessions.
What we do NOT collect:
Audio captured during a session is processed in real time by our AI services to generate transcriptions. Audio data is transmitted over an encrypted connection and is not stored after processing. We do not retain audio recordings.
By starting a session, you consent to your microphone and/or system audio being captured and processed for transcription purposes.

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Usage logs are retained for billing reconciliation. Local profile data (resume, job description, context) is stored on your device and can be cleared at any time from the Configure tab.
To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at hello@cluehire.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". We will process your request within 30 days.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS) and Firebase security rules that restrict access to your data to your account only. However, no system is completely secure.
Clue is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
